Fire Inspection Principals
This two-day (10 hour) class will prepare the inspector to use modern techniques to calculate occupancy load, egress compliance, occupancy categorization, and more. The information is based upon the Jones and Bartlett Fire Inspector: Principals and Practice, as well as explanations and code reference with NFPA 101, The Life Safety Code. While not all jurisdictions use the Life Safety Code, the vast majority of design documents are based upon such. This course will arm the inspector and plan reviewer with some of the industry’s best practices.
Instructor: Peter Cutrer comes from the fire service as a retired Deputy Chief and Fire Marshal. He spend 10+ years teaching for NFPA’s fire service programs, including developing new curriculum. He currently works for the State of New Hampshire Fire Academy as well as the owner of 7CS Consulting, providing support to municipal, state, and federal agencies. Peter is a Certified NFPA Fire Inspector II, Certified IAAI Certified Fire Investigator, as well as a Certified Fire Plans Examiner and Certified Fire Protection Specialist.
