This month's topic is: 2025 Legislative Update

This course covers the bills being presented or passed in the 2025 Oregon legislative session, which affect fire marshals, inspectors and firefighters. This material is a general summary of the work OFMA is doing for its membership and changes that may be occurring.

Students will:

• Have a better understanding of what Legislative changes will affect the Oregon Fire Service.
• Learn how the Oregon Fire Code and presented Bills will work to make Oregonians safer.
• Recognize the role of OFMA in legislative advocacy and how fire service professionals can engage in the legislative process to support fire safety initiatives.
