Q: When and how can I take the Fire Inspector 1 certification exam?
A: You have two choices for the Fire Inspector 1 certification exam: paper or online. According to NFPA:
- To take the paper exam, students will need to apply and register with NFPA. There will be a four-week waiting period before a student is able to sit for the paper exam.
- Students may take the online exam immediately following completion of the course.

Q: Are any books provided with this course?
A: All NFPA® Fire Inspector 1 Class materials will be provided on the first day of class (Monday, March 20, 2017)
Q: Is there a limit to how many individuals will be accepted into the NFPA® Fire Inspector 1 class?
Q: Will the NFPA Fire Inspector 1 class meet the requisite knowledge needed for task book sign off?

Q: What reference books are needed for the NFPA Fire Inspector 1 class?
A: The reference books needed for the class are the 2012 or 2015 edition of NFPA: 1, 101, 13, 25, 72
Q: Does completing this training course give students a “free pass” to take the exam?
A: No it does not. While this training course is designed to help you prepare to take the Fire Inspector I certification exam, the exam cost of $350 is not included.
